Monthly: Dear listening friend, you’re warmly invited to join us for our monthly prayer gathering at the WLUJ Studio (600 West Mason Street in Springfield), every first Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m.! It’s a special time to come together in the presence of God — lifting up prayer requests from our listening family, covering our community, leaders, the impact of the Gospel across our 21 frequencies, and other needs as the Lord leads. We’d be blessed and grateful to pray with you, encourage one another, and connect in fellowship as we enjoy a light brunch together. Feel welcome to bring your prayer requests — we’d love to spend that time with you!

Monthly: Business Men in Christ (BMIC) gathers on the second Saturday of each month, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., at Pizza Ranch (1001 Lejune Drive, Springfield), for a powerful time of biblical encouragement, brotherhood, and fresh perspective! Each breakfast features a Christ-centered message from a special guest speaker, along with meaningful fellowship and a wonderful brunch (available for a small fee). It’s a blessed opportunity to grow deeper in your walk with the Lord and be strengthened by the company of other men pursuing Jesus! Weekly: Washington Street Mission (408 N. 4th Street, Springfield) invites volunteers to serve breakfast and share the Good News every Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. It’s a meaningful way to shine Jesus’ light by providing meals, fellowship, and hope to those in need. Weekly: Find hope and healing every Thursday at Celebrate Recovery at Together Church (225 North Grand Ave E, Springfield). This Christ-centered group welcomes anyone facing hurts, habits, or hang-ups! Enjoy a $5 meal at 5:30 p.m. (your first visit is free), followed by music, a message, and newcomer intro. Then join small groups to share or listen, ending with fellowship and treats at Together Time Café. You’re not alone—come be part of a loving and caring community!

Tuesday, January 13: Families with little ones are encouraged to attend an Open House at Our Savior’s School (2645 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield) on Tuesday, the 13th at 6:00 p.m., where guests may tour the campus, meet dedicated teachers, and learn more about the school’s Christ-centered approach to education! This evening is open to those considering preschool, kindergarten, or a faith-filled educational home for a child already in school, and offers a glimpse into a community devoted to making and maturing disciples. Our Savior’s School partners with families to share the love of Jesus and to nurture students in a place where faith, family, and friendships flourish!

Saturday, January 17: Business Men in Christ (BMIC) joyfully invites you to Faith in the Arena on Saturday, the 17th, a grateful celebration of God’s work in and through the UIS community. Join us at the UIS TRAC Arena (Richard Wright Drive, Springfield), where the UIS women’s basketball game begins at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m. Then from 5:307:30 p.m., gather for worship, delicious food, jubilant celebration, and fellowship, all in the joy of the Lord! As Scripture reminds us: For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20)! Advance tickets are only $2 and can be purchased from Doug at (217) 622-6832. Come celebrate God’s love alongside UIS athletes, campus ministries, students, faculty, and our community!

Thursday, January 22: The Community Evangelical Memorial Pro-Life Prayer Vigil will be held on the 22nd, at 7:00 p.m. at Savoy United Methodist Church (3002 W. Old Church Road, Champaign). This annual, multi-faith prayer vigil honors all lives lost to and affected by abortion and includes Scripture readings, music and singing, testimony, a rose and candle procession, and fellowship! The theme is Choosing Life, Choosing Hope, and the featured speaker is Micaella Clay, an abortion survivor, former foster child, adoptee, and adoption advocate. Thursday, February 12: Winter Jam 2026 comes to the Peoria Civic Center Arena on the 12th of February, bringing together some of the most celebrated and anointed voices in Christian music for an unforgettable night! This year’s lineup includes Chris Tomlin, Matthew West, Katy Nichole, Hulvey, Disciple, Emerson Day, Newsong, and speaker Zane Black, with a Pre-Jam Party featuring Jeremy Rosado, Heath Brothers, and Cliff Preston. No tickets are required, and a $15 donation at the door is suggested. Parking is available in the Peoria Civic Center Marquee and Fulton lots, with additional options nearby. Saturday, February 21: Real Life Church (2701 Hermitage Road, Springfield) welcomes couples to a dedicated time of renewal at a marriage conference led by Steve and Debbie Thomas from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. This event is designed for couples at any stage of marriage and offers practical guidance, encouragement, and tools to grow closer together. The conference celebrates the sacred covenant of marriage and the blessings of a Christ-centered relationship (Ephesians 5:25–28)! The day includes interactive sessions, practical workshops, and opportunities for prayer and reflection. Come invest in your marriage and cultivate a richer connection with God and with one another!

Thursday, March 19:  Join in standing for the sacred gift of every life at the Illinois Pro-Life March! The march for life will be held on the 19th of March, from 1–3 p.m. in the capitol city. This free event is organized by Illinois Right to Life and Illinois Right to Life Action, and honors the God-given value of every individual, created in His image (Genesis 1:27), and stands as a witness to the sanctity of life! Participants will gather at the Lincoln Statue in front of the Illinois Capitol Building (401 S 2nd St, Springfield). The schedule includes a rally at 1:00 p.m., the march at 2:00 p.m., and lobbying opportunities beginning at 3:00 p.m.!

The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
