Ongoing: Washington Street Mission (408 N. 4th Street, Springfield) welcomes and encourages volunteers to join as much as you feel led – as every Saturday morning holds the opportunity to help serve breakfast and share the Good News! This is a meaningful way to make a significant impact in our community while advancing the Kingdom Agenda – providing a warm meal, sharing the gospel, and offering fellowship and support! Your time and efforts are a beacon of hope and light to those in need. Volunteers will meet each Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. to serve and uplift our community. Ongoing: Find hope and healing every Thursday at Celebrate Recovery at Together Church (225 North Grand Ave E, Springfield)! Whether you're facing hurts, habits, or hang-ups, you're warmly invited to this Christ-centered recovery group! Come as you are and enjoy a meal at 5:30 p.m. for just $5 (your first visit is free!). The evening includes uplifting music, an encouraging message, and an introductory session for newcomers. Afterward, join small groups to share your journey or simply listen—whatever feels most comfortable. End the night with fellowship and a sweet treat at the Together Time Café. You’re not alone—come and be part of a caring community!

Friday, January 24: Come out and be blessed by a wonderful evening of music and fellowship with the very talented Mulkins’ Family, putting on a Bluegrass / Gospel concert at 7p.m. on Friday, at Eastview Baptist Church (2277 East Black Ave., Springfield, IL). The Mulkins’ Family’s mission is to spread the love of Jesus through their heartfelt music and inspiring message – don’t miss this uplifting event! Saturday, February 22: Mark your calendar for the Business Men in Christ Annual Winter Men’s Retreat! This one-day event on the 22nd of February is all about fellowship, encouragement, and diving deeper into what it means to live out your identity in Christ! With the theme "More Than Enough," author and ministry leader Kevin Boeckenstedt from Decatur, Illinois, will be leading the men through a day of inspiration and growth. The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
