Weekly - Monday:  The local group of “Moms in Prayer International”  meet weekly on Monday nights from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the South Tower Community Church, located at 1350 South Tower Rd, Dawson .  Moms in Prayer International is an international, worldwide ministry with the purpose of praying for our children, teachers, administrators, staff  and to pray that our children will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and stand boldly in their faith.  Everyone is invited to come and join in the vision that every school in the World would be covered in Prayer  For more information call/text Jenny at 217971-2725 or email cpcashranch@gmail.com.

September 30, Saturday:   Fresh Visions Community Church, located at 1551 J David Jones Parkway, Springfield, is hosting a “Worship Arts Explosion 2023”, on Saturday, September 30 at 3:00 pm.  The event is an expression of praise and worship to the Most High God our Father through, dance, song and mimes.  There will be a freewill offering with ½ of the proceeds being donated to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).   For more information call 217-726-5988

October 1, Sunday:   Third Presbyterian Church, located at 1030 North 7th St, Springfield,  would like to invite you to the Fall Open House on Sunday, October 1st, from 10:00 AM -11:30 AM.  Meet in the Fellowship Hall for a light snack and beverage.  A short tour of God’s House and the NCCL Library will be available following snacks.  The annual Crop Walk registration will begin at 1 pm.   October 1st is World Communion Sunday and we invite  you to join us for our worship service at 9 AM.  Everyone is welcome.   For more information call 217-528-0457

October 3, Tuesday:    The 3rd Annual “Leo Fouts” Memorial Sing featuring The Lesters and Big Mo will be at Grace Southern Baptist Church, on Tuesday, October 3rd.  The church is located at 302 West Wright St, Virden  and the event will start at 6:30 pm.   Come out and enjoy good fellowship and Southern Gospel Music.  For more information call Judy at 217-416-3029

October 7, Saturday:   Sherman Church of the Nazarene is hosting “The Texas Star Country Gospel Concert” on Saturday, October 7th   starting at 6:00 pm.  The church is located at 7085 Village Center Rd, Sherman.  No tickets required and a free will offering will be taken for the group.   Come join us for a night of worship and inspiration.   For more information call 217-496-3255.

October 13-15, Friday-Sunday:  Faith Bible Church, 4850 Old Jacksonville  Road, Springfield, will host the 30th annual Springfield Bible Conference on the weekend of Friday, October 13 through Sunday October 15.   Phil Johnson and Justin Peters will speak on the theme “Biblical Spirituality”.   The conference is free and there is no need to pre-register.  There will be special music, a nursery, a Book Room, and plenty of free handouts to read and listen to.  For more information, call Pastor Curt Daniel at 217-585-8770.

October 18, Wednesday:  South Tower Community Church, located at 1350 South Tower Rd, Dawson,  is hosting a special event “Rise Up & Pray-Springfield” on Wednesday, October 18th.   President Sally Burke of “Moms in Prayer International”  is coming to Springfield and will be speaking at this event to encourage and equip those who attend.   Moms in Prayer International is an interdenominational, worldwide ministry with the purpose of standing in the gap for our children through prayer, to pray that our children will receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and be an encouragement and positive support to our schools.   This event will start at 6:30 and the event and optional meal, are both Free, but registration is required.   For more information call/text Jenny at 217-971-2725 or email cpcashranch@gmail.com.   

October 21, Saturday:    N I A Community Development Center, The L.Y.N.C., & Faith Temple AME Church, is hosting their first Hallelujah Day – Dances of Praise event, October 21st, starting at 4:00 pm.  Hallelujah Day – Dances of Praise was started many decades ago by the late Deaconess Mary E Benson and this event will continue her legacy, the many events, & the individuals she honored with her good works.  The church is located at 901 E 23rd St, Springfield.  For more information, contact Sandra Lockett at 217-220-0080.  Refreshments will follow the event.

October 21, Saturday:  First Baptist Church in Ashland, located at 221 West Washington St. is hosting the Gospel Music singing family, known as, “Anticipation” on Saturday, October 21 starting at 5:00 pm.   A meal will be provided at 5:00 pm for everyone to enjoy and the concert will start at 6:00 pm.  A freewill offering will be taken and everyone is invited to come and enjoy the fellowship good music.    For more information call 217-414-9506.

October 28, Saturday:   Delta Church located at 1220 Outer Park Dr, Springfield, is hosting the Delta Women’s Conference on Saturday, October 28, beginning at 8:00 am.    The theme of the conference is “Women of God”, a study in the book of Ephesians.  The goal is to understand how the gospel unites women in Christ as daughters of the King and unites them together as sisters, wives, mothers, and neighbors living out life in Him.  Registration is $25.00 and includes breakfast, a Chick-fil-A lunch, a t-shirt, and an Ephesians journal Bible and other conference material.   For more information you may  contact Hannah Radford at 815-979-7199 or call the church at 217-544-8661.

The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
