Ongoing: Washington Street Mission (408 N. 4th Street, Springfield) welcomes and encourages volunteers to join as much as you feel led – as every Saturday morning holds the opportunity to help serve breakfast and share the Good News! This is a meaningful way to make a significant impact in our community while advancing the Kingdom Agenda – providing a warm meal, sharing the gospel, and offering fellowship and support! Your time and efforts are a beacon of hope and light to those in need. Volunteers will meet each Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. to serve and uplift our community. Ongoing: Find hope and healing every Thursday at Celebrate Recovery at Together Church (225 North Grand Ave E, Springfield)! Whether you're facing hurts, habits, or hang-ups, you're warmly invited to this Christ-centered recovery group! Come as you are and enjoy a meal at 5:30 p.m. for just $5 (your first visit is free!). The evening includes uplifting music, an encouraging message, and an introductory session for newcomers. Afterward, join small groups to share your journey or simply listen—whatever feels most comfortable. End the night with fellowship and a sweet treat at the Together Time Café. You’re not alone—come and be part of a caring community!

Wednesday-Friday, February 5th-7th: Join LRM Missions (1200 E. Union Ave, Litchfield, IL) for their annual School of the Spirit conference, from February 5th-7th! Sessions will be held at 10a.m. and 7p.m. each day, this powerful 3-day event focuses on freedom in worship, the activation of spiritual gifts, and releasing God’s people into their callings. Come expecting a transformative experience through worship, teaching, equipping, and connection! Thursday, February 6: Springfield Christian School's Kindergarten Preview Night will be held on the 6th of February at 6p.m. – this is a great opportunity to learn how partnering with SCS can lead to your child’s blossoming in both faith and education! Additionally, parents who attend will have the best chance to secure one of our kindergarten spots for the upcoming year, and attendees will be entered to win a paid application fee for the 2025-2026 school year! Beginning February 10: Get ready for an unforgettable summer at LSCA’s Summer Camp (1674 Lick Creek Lane, Chatham)! Registration opens February 10th, and this year’s theme is All In – a perfect opportunity for students to take the next step in their faith journey. LSCA offers a variety of camp formats, providing many different ways your camper can enjoy their summer while strengthening their relationship with Christ and building lasting friendships with like-minded peers! Saturday, February 15: We hope to see you at the Refuge Ranch Fundraising Pancake Breakfast on the 15th of February at 11 AM at Cherry Hills Church (2125 Woodside Road, Springfield). Enjoy fresh-off-the-griddle pancakes, sausage links, a variety of toppings, and beverages like milk, juice, coffee, and cocoa. Tickets are just $12 at the door, and kids 3 and under eat free with a special kids’ plate. All proceeds support Refuge Ranch’s mission and the continuation of their amazing work! Saturday, February 22: Mark your calendar for the Business Men in Christ Annual Winter Men’s Retreat! This one-day event on the 22nd of February is all about fellowship, encouragement, and diving deeper into what it means to live out your identity in Christ! With the theme "More Than Enough," author and ministry leader Kevin Boeckenstedt from Decatur, Illinois, will be leading the men through a day of inspiration and growth. Saturday, March 8: The annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, hosted by Divernon, Thayer, and Pawnee United Methodist Churches, will be held on the 8th of March from 4-7 p.m., at the Pawnee United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (402 6th Street, Pawnee)! Enjoy a delicious meal of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and dessert, with alternative and children's meals available. Carry-out options are also offered! The cost is $12 per meal, and this event serves as a fundraiser to support church gatherings. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early with a great meal while supporting our community and local churches! 

Saturday, March 15: Calling men of all ages—don’t miss the National Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Conference on Saturday, the 15th of March, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (2941 S. Koke Mill Rd, Springfield)! This dynamic one-day event is packed with inspiring speakers, practical workshops, and the chance to connect with like-minded men who are ready to grow in faith and purpose. Saturday, March 29: We would love for you to join Right to Life, of Springfield, Illinois as they host a Fundraising Event on the 29th of March beginning at 8:30 a.m., held at Erin’s Pavilion (4965 South 2nd Street, South Wind Park). The theme of this year’s event is Do Not Be Afraid, as they highlight moments of courage, inspiration, and fortitude amidst the ongoing fight for a pro-life world. This special gathering will bring together our community to support the important cause of protecting the right to life! Your participation will make a difference in advocating for the unborn and supporting life-affirming initiatives! The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
