October 24-27, Thursday-Sunday: The Greater Apostolic Church of Christ is excited to invite the public to come out and enjoy their 45th church anniversary celebrating and honoring their many decades of serving The Kingdom of God and the local community! Guest speakers are scheduled to bless the services each night, with Saturday’s keynote speaker being: Bishop Bramlett Cooper  Prelate of the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ, Inc.! Evening services will begin at 7p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 6p.m. on Saturday, and at 10:45a.m. Sunday morning! October 25, Friday: Fall Night Out hosted by Lake Springfield Christian Assembly (1674 Lick Creek Lane, Chatham) is sure to be a wonderful time of FREE fall-themed fun for the entire community! There will be camp fire, hot dogs, hay rides, caramel apples, and LSCA camp friends, intending to bring together like-minded Christians and build community! Come out with your friends, neighbors, and family at 6:30p.m.

October 26, Saturday: The public is invited to enjoy hot and delicious homemade soup, bread, beverages, and friendliness on Saturday, October 26 from 11a.m.-2p.m. at The Greater Apostolic Church of Christ (1300 E. Ash Street, Springfield). Ambassadeur’s Pottage is a feeding ministry offered each fourth Saturday at the church. All are welcome and encouraged to come join in and be blessed!

October 27, Sunday: Reverend Bruce Goesttsche, of Union Church (La Harpe, IL) and God’s Truth for Daily Living radio program (Monday-Friday at 3:30p.m on 89.7FM), will be retiring this year after forty-three years of ministry at Union Church! There will be a time of celebration in his honor Sunday the 27th at 2p.m. in the La Harpe School Gymnasium (404 West Main Street, La Harpe, Illinois)! All are invited and encouraged to come out for this time of great fun, especially Bruce's radio listening friends and family!

October 31, Thursday: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church & School (2645 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield) will be hosting Trunk or Treat in their parking lot, Thursday the 31st from 5-7p.m.! Our Savior’s is providing a FREE, safe, and friendly opportunity for your young ones to dress up, have fun, and hear the Good News about Jesus! Trunk or Treat will take place rain or shine, if there is rain the time of fun will be held in the Parish Hall (please enter from south entrance). For any inquires feel free to phone (217) 546-4531!

November 2, Saturday: You, your friends, and family are invited for a wonderful time of fall-themed fun as Fresh Visions Community Church (1551 J. David Jones Parkway, Springfield) holds their annual Fall Festival – a FREE event open to the entire community! There will be fun for all ages, inclusive of: face painting, games, prizes, and comfort food! Mark your calendars for 12p.m. on the Seoncd of November to come enjoy the afternoon with us!

November 1-3, Friday-Sunday: Calling all junior detectives! Lake Springfield’s Christian Assembly (LSCA – 1674 Lick Creek Lane, Chatham) is thrilled to invite 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to this year’s Pre-Teen Retreat with a most exciting mystery theme! Campers will be stepping into the shoes of spiritual sleuths as they explore the deeper mysteries of love, faith, forgiveness, and discovering their God-given purpose! Upon arrival campers will immediately be immersed in a weekend packed with engaging activities and interactive Bible lessons, as we together investigate what God’s word says about the most important questions in life, all while having a blast! LSCA is dedicated to fostering an environment where biblical truths come alive in the hearts of campers, reflecting the values of scripture! November 5, Tuesday: Calling ALL pastor’s wives and ladies in ministry leadership roles! The Hospitality Team of WLUJ & Great News Media invites you with excitement to join, the first Tuesday of each month at Springfield’s Salvation Army Community Center (1600 E Clear Lake Ave) from 12-1:30p.m.! This month’s keynote speaker will be the lovely Dr. Cynthia Thomas of SIU Medicine, also a member of the Praise and Worship Team at her church! November 24, Sunday: Trinity Lutheran Church and School will be hosting a special edition GriefShare Seminar Surviving the Holidays on Sunday, November 24th from 1-3p.m. in the school's Parish Hall (515 South MacArthur Blvd, Springfield). Surviving the Holidays Seminar will allow attendees to lend support and acceptance of each other’s grieving process in a safe, loving, and caring environment! There will be a video shown that features advice from people who have faced the holidays after the loss of a loved one, followed by a group discussion. Participants will also receive a Holiday Survival Guide which contains over thirty encouraging readings, helpful charts, and tips tuned toward managing the holiday season. The objective of this GriefShare is to help participants find ways to honor their loved ones while putting themselves on the pathway towards healing and well-being! November 25, Saturday: Thanksgiving is just around the corner! First Baptist Church of Lincoln, Illinois (101 Broadway Street, Lincoln) invites and encourages the entire community to come and join together for a Thanksgiving Service. The time of giving thanks unto The Lord will begin at 7p.m. and is a great opportunity to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers!

The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
