December 3, Tuesday: You and your loved ones are invited to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, and enjoy a free concert of lovely Christmas classics performed by The Capital Area Concert Band! The show will begin at 7p.m. at The Trutter Center on The Lincoln Land Community College campus (5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield). This concert is the band’s free gift to the Springfield community, encouraging you to come unwind and revitalize as the mad-dash of the holiday season continues! December 5, Thursday: Jesus Christ our Savior is born! Fresh Visions Community Church will be collaborating with Grace United Methodist Church to host an incredible time of celebration and rejoicing in our Creator’s amazing grace – through the birth of our Lord and Savior! Pastor Cary Beckwith of Grace United Methodist will be the speaker of the hour, beginning at 6:30p.m. – come, let us adore Him! We pray to see you there as we celebrate and honor the holiest of nights, at Fresh Visions Church (1551 J. David Jones Parkway, Springfield).

December 6, Friday: You are invited to join for a wonderful Christmas concert performed by Brian Arner, beginning at 6p.m. at the Sherman Church of the Nazarene (7085 Village Center Road, Sherman)! Preceding the concert, from 5:30-6:15p.m. there will be a time of fellowship and a delicious spaghetti dinner, with a suggested donation of $7 - all proceeds will be donated to the Washington Street Mission (A wonderful ministry in Springfield, providing services to homeless folks and others in need)! December 6-7, Friday-Saturday: Come out and enjoy a beautiful recreation of the amazing events which surrounded the night of our Savior’s birth, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and School’s drive-through Live Nativity! This unique, FREE event features holiday lights, choirs of angels, gorgeous displays, live animals, and in-costume actors! This annual tradition will take place from 7-9p.m. on both Friday and Saturday evening, at 2645 Old Jacksonville Road in Springfield. Bring family and friends out for a night of joy, wonder, and inspiration. This one-of-a-kind event is a gift to our community, celebrating and appreciating the reason for the season!

December 10, Tuesday: You are encouraged and welcome to come out, sit back, and relax, while enjoying some beautiful and calming Christmas classics performed by The Capital Area Concert Band! This free, one-hour event will be held at 7p.m. at Trinity Lutheran School (515 South MacArthur Blvd, Springfield). This wonderful band puts on these concerts as a gift to the community in hopes to provide great enjoyment and blessing to all attendees - let this joyful time be an early Christmas present to you, you family, and friends! December 14, Saturday: Calling all men of God! You are encouraged to join for the Christmas edition, Business Men In Christ breakfast meeting! The monthly BMIC Blasts are always held on the second Saturday, at Pizza Ranch (1001 Lejune Drive, Springfield), from 8-9a.m. Come out and join as we embrace the heart of discipleship, outreach, service, and fellowship with like-minded men! The keynote speaker this month is John Maxwell – certified Life Coach – along with Pastor David Swihart of Pawnee Christian Church. The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
