May 25, Saturday: Bringing warmth to every heart – the Outreach Ministry of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ presents – Ambassadeurs’ Pottage – a meal for all, free of charge! Ambassadeaurs’ Pottage is a community event to take place at the church each fourth Saturday, from 11AM-2PM. The churches location is 1300 East Ash Street in Springfield, and the pottage will consist of soup, bread (or crackers), butter, and a drink. May 26, Sunday: The Lesters will be in concert on May 26, starting at 3:00p.m.  The concert will be held at New Life Christian Camp, located at 11257 Macomb Rd, Rushville.  This is a non-ticket event and there will be free BBQ!!  A love offering will be received.  For more information call 309-827-2406.


June 2, Sunday:  Pastor Jerry Jones & The Fantastic Jones Family will celebrate 52 years in the music ministry with its annual concert on Sunday, June 2nd at 4:00p.m.   The concert will be held at the Fresh Visions Community Church, located at 1551 J David Parkway, Springfield. Concert attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit a local food pantry. An AARP representative will be present to share information regarding cancer and brain health. There will be a variety of special guests out of St. Louis, MO!  The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be received.  For more information call 217-553-3188


June 9, Sunday: The well-known gospel group, Avenue with Kasey and Haley Kemp, and Jonathan Mattingly, will be performing at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, on June 9 at 6p.m.! The church is located at 4135 Mt. Auburn Road, in Decatur, Illinois. This exciting concert is of no charge and open to the public, however, an RSVP is required and can be accomplished by contacting Jason White at (217) 433-0802!


June 10-14, Monday-Friday:  Springfield Bible Church, located at 2060 Westchester Blvd, Springfield, is hosting VBS June 10-14 from 6:00PM-8:30PM each night. Children ages Pre-K through 6th grade are welcome to come join us for a week of fun activities, all while learning about the love of God! During VBS the children will also be taught about animals from all around the planet, their amazing skills, habits, and features, while also learning about Jesus’ character and how to follow him in their own habitats. June 15, Saturday:  The 2nd Annual BYO Church H.O.T. (Honest, Open, Transparent) & F.A.T. (Faithful, Available, Teachable) Men’s Conference kicks off from 9p.m. to 3p.m. on Saturday, June 15! The conference is to be held at BYO Church, 2901 East Sangamon Avenue, in Springfield, and the cost is inclusive of lunch at only $30 per man or $45 with a conference t-shirt. This event will be complete with powerful worship sessions, a variety of wonderful speakers, and prayer that transforms hearts and lives, come join the movement! June 23, Sunday:   Taylorville Church of the Nazarene, located at 300 S. Shumway St, Taylorville is having VBS, beginning Sunday June 23 - Thursday June 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  “The Great Jungle Journey”, an epic cruise from Genesis to Revelation, creating a world of wonder that will delight our senses while captivating our hearts and minds.  They will stop at seven ports that represent seven key biblical events, the 7 C’s of History;  Creation, Corruption and Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ and the Cross and Consummation.  A meal will be provided daily for children ages Pre K – 6th Grade.  All local children are invited for these Bible stories, music, games, crafts and snacks.  For more information call 217-827-4466.





The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.
